Facebook and WhatsApp are investigated for suspected anti-competitive practices by the National Commission for the Defense of Competition
The Secretariat of Domestic Trade ordered the National Commission for the Defense of Competition to initiate an ex officio investigation for suspected anti-competitive practices (abuse of dominant position) carried out by WhatsApp Inc. and/or its controlling companies and other companies of the economic group (Facebook), in the adoption of new terms of service and its privacy policy imposed on users by WhatsApp Inc.

Sanction to Rappi by having denied a user the right of suppression
On April 13, 2020, a sanction from the National Directorate for the Protection of Personal Data (DNPDP) was disseminated, by which a fine of 80,000 pesos was applied to Rappi Arg S.A.S. for having committed a serious infringement, by having denied a user the right of suppression provided for in Law 25.326 on the Protection of Personal Data. The complainant, who worked as a delivery person for Rappi in the past, decided to unsubscribe from the application and did not make any more deliveries, but continued to receive emails and messages on his cell phone.
