Mr. Ignacio Funes de Rioja is partner of the HR Law Department at Bruchou & Funes de Rioja and a member of its Steering Committee and its Board of Directors.
He specializes in individual and collective labour law, and is advisor to companies and chambers of commerce. He also focuses on negotiation of collective bargaining agreements in various fields.
Mr. Funes de Rioja is recognized as leader in his field of practice by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500, Who’s Who Legal and LACCA – Latin Lawyer.
He has been business representative member of the National Telework Legislation Commission. At the International Bar Association (IBA) where he served as Chairman of the Committee on Discrimination and Fairness in the Employment.
He was the Argentinean employer representative and Spokesperson for the employer group at the Global Dialogue Forum on the challenges and opportunities of telework for workers and employers in the information and communication technology services and financial sectors. He is a member of the Global Employment Institute; and of the International Bar Association, since 2001. He has been a Professor in undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Universities such as UADE, UCA, DI TELLA. He was a member of the Deans’ Advisory Council of Duke University School of Law between 2001 and 2005, Member of the Superior Council of Universidad del CEMA until 2022. He is currently Professor of Labour Law, Labour Policy and Social Security at Universidad del CEMA. He has lectured in Diplomatura corporate lawyers (UCEMA) – 10/2021 “Derecho laboral de empresas”, Charla IADEM – 11/21 “Estado Actual de las Relaciones Laborales en el Ámbito de la Minería Metalífera. Lawyer graduated from the Universidad Católica Argentina, 1999. D. in Juridical Sciences, at the same university and then at Duke University School of Law, Durham, NC, USA. Master of Laws, LL.M.Degree, May 2001; and a Master’s Degree focused on the study of Individual and Collective Labour Law and Environmental Law. He participated in the International Labour Organisation, Geneva, Switzerland.
