Carlos E.
Carlos Lombardi is one of the founding partners of the firm. He graduated from the School of Law of the University of Buenos Aires in 1981 and was admitted to the bar in 1982.
He has more than four decades of experience providing legal advice to financial institutions, with a specialization in banking law, corporate finance, and capital markets transactions. Throughout his professional career, he has served as legal counsel to Boards of Directors and General Management of several banks in Argentina, playing an active role in a broad range of transactions with the country’s leading financial institutions. He has participated in numerous capital markets operations, both domestic and international, including debt offerings, initial public offerings, structured financings, and securitization processes. Carlos also has strong experience in mergers and acquisitions—particularly in the financial sector—as well as in investment funds, asset management, and complex, high-stakes litigation.
He is a member of various national and international institutions, including the Banking Lawyers Committee of the Republic of Argentina, the Buenos Aires Bar Association, and the International Bar Association (IBA). He is also on the board of “Lógica,” an organization that promotes awareness of Argentina’s fiscal challenges, and serves on the Legal Council of the “Libertad y Progreso” foundation. In the area of justice, he is a member of FORES (Forum for the Study of Justice Administration) and the “Será Justicia” group.
Carlos’s distinguished career has been recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 by Latin Lawyer and the Lifetime Achievement Award 2024 by IFLR Americas. He has also been consistently ranked as a leading lawyer in his fields of expertise by Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500, and International Financial Law Review.
