Oil and Gas / Energy Transition
Bruchou & Funes de Rioja represents and assists international and local oil and gas companies in their legal and regulatory needs, including the negotiation of project investment agreements, joint operating agreements, crude and gas sales agreements, among others, as well as all kind of regulatory work needed to conduct their daily activities.
Since the discovery of Vaca Muerta formation in the Neuquén Province as one of the most prolific unconventional hydrocarbon reservoirs worldwide, our Oil & Gas team has been involved in the most relevant transactions and day-to-day advise to energy sector clients with interests in the development of these unconventional hydrocarbon resources in Argentina, both upstream, midstream and downstream (including more recently, LNG projects on a global scale).
Bruchou & Funes de Rioja’s oil and gas regulatory practice is an integral part of its overall legal services to the most qualified companies in the energy sector.
Our corporate lawyers work closely with regulatory experts and lawyers from other areas such as banking and capital markets, tax, litigation and labor, among others, to assist clients in the execution of complex transactions.
Regulatory advice includes compliance with requirements from federal governmental agencies (Secretary of Energy, ENARGAS, among others) and the corresponding provincial authorities in the structuring and completion of the transactions, obtaining regulatory approvals and assisting our clients in the day-to-day matters with those agencies.
More recently, following the needs of our clients in the oil and gas industry to contribute to reduce their carbon footprint in line with the Paris Agreement, our Oil and Gas team has been specializing in the legal and regulatory issues related to the energy transition and has become an essential link in our ESG and Sustainable Business platform.
