We advised Banco Macro on the acquisition of 50% of Personal Pay

Bruchou & Funes de Rioja advised Banco Macro on the structuring of a joint venture with Telecom Argentina to partner in the control and management of Personal Pay. The transaction included Banco Macro’s subscription of 50% of the stock of Micro Sistemas S.A., the company that develops and operates Personal Pay, for a total amount of US$75 million.

This strategic agreement aims to accelerate the growth of the platform and strengthen its presence within the Argentine fintech ecosystem, expanding the range of financial products and services offered to more users with the support of a leading bank. Additionally, this transaction represents a significant step in the development of the digital payments and financial services business in Argentina and reinforces Banco Macro’s strategy to expand its presence in this sector, in partnership with one of the country’s major telecommunications groups.
