We advised BML Energía S.A. (MSU Group) on the acquisition of Chocón Hidroeléctrica Argentina S.A.
Bruchou & Funes de Rioja provided comprehensive advice to BML Energía S.A. (MSU Group) in connection with the bidding process and takeover related to the acquisition of Chocón Hidroeléctrica Argentina S.A., the concessionaire of the El Chocón–Arroyito hydroelectric power plant, located in the Limay River basin in the Comahue region (Provinces of Neuquén and Río Negro).
The acquired concession has an installed capacity of 1,418 MW and an average annual generation of 2,602 GWh. It also represents 15% of Argentina’s installed hydroelectric generation. This acquisition further consolidates MSU as one of the most significant renewable energy generation companies in the country.
The transaction was carried out within the framework of the national and international multi-stage public tender launched by the Ministry of Economy for the sale of 100% of the share capital of the concessionaire companies Alicurá Hidroeléctrica Argentina S.A., Chocón Hidroeléctrica Argentina S.A., Cerros Colorados Hidroeléctrica Argentina S.A., and Piedra del Águila Hidroeléctrica Argentina S.A.
