Articles & events - December 1, 2021
Our partners Rodríguez Galli, Javier S., Energy Transition, and Bazán, José María, Green Bonds and Financing, took part in the Energy Day event, organized by EconoJournal.

During the event, they contributed the Firm’s experience and views on challenges and restrictions posed by the energy transition, within the framework of our new Climate Action and Sustainable Business Platform.

The first panel was chaired by Javier Rodríguez Galli. The discussion was about the decisions being made by the major oil companies regarding the energy transition agenda. Sean Rooney, President of Shell Argentina; Jorge Dimópulos, Business Development Director – Energy Transition Unit at Tecpetrol; and Dominique Marion, TotalEnergies’ General Manager and Country Chair, agreed on the need to introduce an energy transition agenda for Argentina which supports the combination of Vaca Muerta’s resources (in particular, natural gas to handle the transition) and renewable resources owned by our country. Also, they presented the views of large companies on the decarbonisation agenda in order to achieve Paris Agreement’s goals.

José participated in the panel “Renewable Energy Sources: how to reactivate their development in Argentina. Hydrogen as an option”, together with Martín Brandi, CEO at PCR; Gustavo Castagnino, Corporate Affairs Director at Genneia and Vice President at the Argentine Wind Energy Chamber (CEA, for its acronym in Spanish); Claudio Cunha, Enel Argentina’s Country Manager; and Juan Cruz Azzarri, Founding Partner of MHR ABOGADOS Law Firm. The panel discussed the sector’s needs for continued investment in renewable energy sources and the global and local trend set by investors with an appetite for financing these projects.
